Mitchell's Gourmet Foods is committed to marketing a fresh, clean, and
traceable pork product, from farm gate to table.
At the farm
Our largest pork producers are strategically located in Saskatchewan, close to large
supplies of quality feed grains in a clean environment.
The farrow-to-finish units are comprised of breeding, nursing, and feeder barns
that are physically segregated. This enhances biosecurity, operating efficiencies
and herd health programs. Each unit is inspected monthly by qualified veterinarians.
On-site feed mills allow us to formulate nutritionally superior feed. No antibiotics,
growth hormones, or meat meal are used.
Transport
To maintain high standards from product through processing and delivery, transportation
trailers are washed and disinfected between each load.

Our blast chill tunnel allows rapid chilling of the carcasses. This procedure inhibits the
growth of bacteria versus the traditional method, creating longer shelf life with superior
colour.
The flexibility of our conversion lines and employees who are well trained in knife
skills allow us to produce traditional and specialty products to meet our customer’s
specifications.
The finished pork product
We meet the highest food safety standards while providing a consistent pork supply
to our domestic and international customers including
restaurants, hotels and institutions.
In taste-test panels, international consumers clearly preferred the flavour and texture of
our Canadian pork.
